We were looking to upgrade the Almalinux 8.5 AWS instance type to either m6i or c6i.
However, we were unable to proceed with the instance type upgrade.
The following message was generated when we tried to upgrade the instance type.
Failed to modify the instance type.
The instance configuration for this AWS marketplace product is not supported. Please see the AWS marketplace site for more information about support instance types, regions, and operating systems.
Same here. It is not compatible with latest aws instances. I had checked the same with Rocky Linux. Rocky is supporting new instances. I was forced to use Rocky Linux while I was using Alma Linux for other instances but for any new instances, I have to use Rocky Linux.
This is because Marketplace AMIs are tied to a few instance types. Most of the time it’s best to use the community AMIs provided by Almalinux. These have no restrictions.
