Problem Install Alma Dell R410 (RAID SAS6IR)

Hello. I have one problem , but o i don´t install Alma into my server Dell R410. I think this problem is the RAID Controler SAS6iR. The Alma can not find the Driver this controler.

So, if i try the CentOS 7, i am install normally . And Oracle Linux too.

You can try doing an lspci to get your controller version. You probably need to download a DUD (driver updated disk) from here: Index of /linux/dud/el8/x86_64

Hello Jack. I was my vacation and restart now. So, don´t work with AlmaLinux, but with CentOS Linux 8 Work fine. Could you compile a kernel with support for these Drivers on installation?

The CentOS8 work fine, but Alma don´t work.

Where did that “drive.iso” come from? Is it supposed to contain the driver that works for your device?

Anyway, as @jack indicated, your device ID pairing is 1000:0058. According to ELRepo’s ID listing, this device is supported by the kmod-mptsas package. Furthermore, it looks like you are booting kernel-4.18.9-240.el8. This is from RHEL/CentOS/Rocky 8.3.

Therefore, the DUD iso that you need should be:

https://elrepo.org/linux/dud/el8/x86_64/dd-mptsas-3.04.20-4.el8_3.elrepo.iso

Hello Guys, i dont install my Alma 8.4.

Here bellow, the first error. Don´t find the source media Install (Pen-Driver):
But Find my Virtual DiskDriver.

And i put Open ISO into Local LAN and

And set the install from http


Apparently everything is ok, but the above error occurs bellow:

So I put the kmod-mptsas file into the directory and it still couldn’t find it.
I put it under two different names, but it didn’t find

I ignore the error and install continue:



And the finish, but when i reboot the Dell R410 don´t find the install.

Where can I put my Path this kmod-mptsas package in my repository so it can be found?

Strange that locally on PenDrive I can’t install.

In your first photo, I see that your inst.dd= points to the el8_3 version of the mptsas iso. You need to use the one for el8_4 when installing Alma 8.4.

When AlmaLinux 8.5 comes out, make sure ELRepo has an updated version (tagged .el8_5) of the kmod-mptsas package, before updating the system. The current version (.el8_4) will not be compatible under 8.5.
