Stuck migrating to Alma from Centos 8

Reference: “cat /etc/*-release” produces “CentOS Linux release 8.0.1905 (Core)”

Hello,

Solved some problems after running “almalinux-deploy.sh”, including upgrading the Kernel using instruction found at “https://computingforgeeks.com/how-to-install-latest-kernel-on-centos-linux/” and also installing/upgrading some missing or confused libraries, got to the point where I am stuck at this (for now!):

sysvinit-tools >= 2.87-5 is needed by (installed) initscripts-9.49.47-1.el7.x86_64

Trying to use “dnf updgrade --best --allowerasing” only leads me to something regarding deleting a protected Kernel

Have search high and low for ways to solve this problem to no avail, and I am loss as to have to solve it, since seems to be I am in a catch 22 situation regarding some dependencies.

SO, I need your help, please.

Thanks in advance.
