Failed to start udev kernel device manager

Hi,

I have already applied the groups tweak to my /etc/nsswitch.conf file with absolutely no success on alma linux 8.9:

Is there another solution?

This was the current attempt to boot of the previous kernel:

Thanks,
Henry

I seem to have stumbled upon an extension to the original RH note about the NIS issue with groups. It seems that it is necessary to shift nis as the first option for both passwd and hosts as follows:

passwd: files sss nis systemd
hosts: files dns nis myhostname

I am still puzzled as to what in running through the rules in udev would hang on a network lookup for passwd / hosts when group was thought to be the original issue?
