No it was not “deprecated”. Unsupported maybe. No longer in development, yes. Deprecated means a command or interface that is being phased out, or eventually removed, and then you have to use “the new way” instead.
A module, plugin, or software that is no longer in development for 10 years is not automatically “deprecated”. It might work fine, and need no further development.
