I still can't get sound to work in Alma 9.3

I have a P8Z77-V ASUS motherboard with onboard sound that works perfectly in CentOS 7.9, but I can’t get sound in Firefox, Chrome or mplayer.
I’ve been around since Slackware in the 90’s. This is quite frustrating!
Any suggestions?

Hmm… is the onboard audio device even detected in Rocky 9.3?
Perhaps the audio output is defaulting to another interface, such as an HDMI port on a video card etc.
Please provide the output of these commands:

$ lspci -vnn | grep -A 1 -i audio

and

$ lsmod | grep snd
