Is Almalinux RHCK(Red Hat Compatible Kernel)

Hi Team,

I would like to know is AlmaLinux provides Red Hat Compatible Kernel? I couldnt see anything in the documentation about it. Please let me know.

What do you mean by “compatible kernel”?

yes it is the exact same kernel, not like oracle “unbreakable” kernel which is totally different.

see:

$ uname -a
Linux alma8podman 4.18.0-348.12.2.el8_5.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jan 19 14:35:04 EST 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

$ cat /etc/redhat-release 
AlmaLinux release 8.5 (Arctic Sphynx)

versus:

$ uname -a
Linux rhel8repo 4.18.0-348.12.2.el8_5.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jan 17 07:06:06 EST 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

$ cat /etc/redhat-release 
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.5 (Ootpa)
