RETBleed warning after upgrading Alma8.9 to 9.3

After upgrading my OS from AlmaLinux8.9 to 9.3 I noticed the following warning:

RETBleed: WARNING: Spectre v2 mitigation leaves CPU vulnerable to RETBleed attacks, data leaks possible!

Prior to upgrading, I checked my cpuinfo using lscpu command
[root@agw1mlnlwbh04 ~]# lscpu

Red Hat does explain Retbleed Red Hat response to Retbleed (CVE-2022-29900 / CVE-2022-23816, CVE-2022-29901, CVE-2022-23825) vulnerabilities - Red Hat Customer Portal
and they did release fixed kernels in 2022. For example: cve-details

The difference between el8 and el9 is how verbose tools, like lscpu are.

I should have mentioned in my original post that I implemented the “fixes” according to Red Hat response to Retbleed (CVE-2022-29900 / CVE-2022-23816, CVE-2022-29901, CVE-2022-23825) vulnerabilities - Red Hat Customer Portal

My concern is that disabling the retbleed error leaves my instance in a vulnerable state. Just curious how the vulnerability appeared after I upgraded. Prior to the upgrade I didn’t have this issue. The custom AMI I used to create this instance is from virtualbox image. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Lets look at two machines:

Both machines are Dell PowerEdge R640, albeit different CPU.
The lscpu (util-linux 2.32.1) on AlmaLinux 8 has no section Vulnerabilities.
The lscpu (util-linux 2.37.4) on AlmaLinux 9 does have it.

Does that mean that:
A. EL9 is more vulnerable than EL8?
B. 4214R is more vulnerable than 6230?
C. lscpu 2.37 shows more info than lscpu 2.32?

Personally, I’d choose Lady C.
